Signage Player privacy policy
Effective date: 31 October 2026
Signage Player is an app that turns a TV, a TV box or a PC into a digital sign. Loveitt Holding LLC ("we", "us") makes the app and runs the service that sends content to it. This policy tells you what data the app and the service collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Questions: hello@usesignage.com.
Summary
- The app does not have user accounts. Nobody signs in on the screen.
- The app collects device identifiers, crash logs and diagnostics. It uses them to run the screen and to keep it working.
- The app does not collect your name, contacts, precise location, messages, files, camera, microphone or browsing.
- We do not sell data. We do not share data for advertising. The app shows no ads.
- All data goes over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Who controls the content
A business (our customer) installs Signage Player on its screens, often through a signage provider that resells our service. That business chooses what the screens show and manages them from a web console. The business is responsible for the content on its screens and for any personal data it puts in that content. For that content, we process data on the business's behalf and follow its instructions. If you have a question about what a screen shows, contact the business that runs the screen.
What the app collects
- Device identifiers. The device serial number or the Android ID (SSAID), and an ID that the app makes when it is first paired. The app sends them with each request to our service, so that the service knows which screen is asking.
- Device and app details. Device make and model, operating system and version, app version, screen size and orientation, and whether the display is on.
- Diagnostics and performance. Uptime, restarts, memory, storage, CPU temperature state, playback errors, frame rate, download progress, response times and app log messages. When a screen has a problem, the app can also send a larger diagnostic report.
- Network details. The connection type (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), signal strength, the Wi-Fi network name and access point ID where the device reports them, the local IP address, and other devices that run the app on the same local network.
- IP address. Our service sees the public IP address of the network that the screen uses. From it, our hosting provider estimates an approximate, city-level location. We use this to show where a screen is when its owner did not enter an address, and to set the screen's time zone. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
- Crash logs. When the app fails, it sends a crash report: the error, the app version and the device details above.
- Screen captures. The app takes small pictures of what it shows on the screen and sends them to the service. The business that runs the screen uses them to check that the screen shows the correct content. On some Android devices, screen capture needs permission on the device first. The app captures only the signage content that it displays. It does not capture other apps, cameras or people.
- Playback records. Which content played, on which screen, and when.
What the app does not collect
- No user accounts, names, email addresses or phone numbers on the device.
- No precise location. No GPS.
- No contacts, calendar, messages, photos, files, audio recordings or camera images from the device.
- No web browsing history and no list of other installed apps.
- No advertising ID. No advertising or analytics tracking by third parties.
- No payment or financial information.
Why we use the data
- To pair the screen with the business's account and to send it the correct content.
- To show the business the status of its screens, and to tell it when a screen is offline or has a problem.
- To find and fix crashes and errors, and to make the app faster and more reliable.
- To keep the service secure: to make sure that only paired screens get content, and to stop misuse.
We do not use this data for advertising. We do not use it to identify people.
Who gets the data
We do not sell data and we do not share it with third parties for their own use. These people and companies can get access to it:
- The business that runs the screen, and its signage provider, through the web console.
- Our service providers, who process data for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting, storage and network) and Sentry (crash reports). They can use the data only to provide their services to us.
- Content sources the business chooses. If the screen shows a web page, a video or a feed from another site, the device connects to that site, which then sees the device's IP address. For weather and clock apps, the device asks a weather service (Open-Meteo) for the forecast or time zone of the place the business set.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep data
- Screen captures: about 1 day. The most recent picture of each screen stays until a newer one replaces it or the screen is removed.
- App logs and diagnostics: 14 to 30 days. Larger diagnostic reports: 30 days.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Daily totals (for example, hours online per day): up to about 13 months.
- Device identifiers and device details: while the screen is paired. When the business removes the screen, it goes to a recycle bin for 30 days and then we delete it.
Security
All data goes over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Each paired screen has its own credentials, so it can get only its own content. Access to the data is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service. No system is completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
Signage Player is for businesses. It is not directed at children and it does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices and deletion
- To stop all collection from a screen, unpair the screen in the web console or uninstall the app.
- The business that runs the screen can remove the screen from its account. We then delete the screen's data as described above.
- To ask us to see, correct or delete data, send an email to hello@usesignage.com. Tell us which screen or account it is about. If the data belongs to a business that uses our service, we may send your request to that business.
- Depending on where you live, you can also have other rights, such as the right to object or to complain to your data protection authority.
International transfers
We are in the United States. Our service providers can process data in the United States and in other countries. Where the law requires it, we use approved safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will put the new version on this page and change the effective date. If a change is important, we will tell the businesses that use the service.
